POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Provide manual and CAD drafting support and assist in residential surveying tasks and support for the Civil Engineering Department as assigned.

REPORTS TO:

Department Head, Surveying Department.

RELATIONSHIP TO OTHERS:

Support member for engineering staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare, review and monitor field surveys

Direct field and office staff to execute field surveys

Perform quality control of all survey documents, including survey plans, record plats, descriptions, and review of title commitment reports .

Process field work

Prepare and review CAD work, plats and final surveys

Coordinate and assist in scheduling and preparing cost estimates.

Perform financial management of survey projects including proposal preparation, and invoicing.

Survey boundary analysis and computations of ALTA, topography, utility and roadway surveys.

Assist in training and management of survey department field crews, CAD technicians and support staff

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Survey Crew.

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

Ability to support all levels of staff. Open to change; receptive to new ideas and concepts.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION GUIDELINES:

Licensed Professional Surveyor (P.S.) in the State of Michigan a must.
5 years of related work experience desirable.
