MR. TIMOTHY L. O'DELL

OVERVIEW

Mr. O’Dell has over 35 years of experience in surveying, design engineering, and construction inspection and management for various types of civil engineering projects, including roads and highways, bridges, culverts, storm water management, sanitary sewer collection, water main distribution, and sidewalks. Mr. O’Dell also has significant experience with land surveying, engineering design surveys, construction layout, construction inspection, and construction testing for the types of projects listed above. Survey of existing conditions of more than 60 bridges located in the counties of Shiawassee, Branch, Berrien, Ionia, and Genesee over a 10-year span.

German Road Rehabilitation (2017)

McCaslin Lake Road Rehabilitation (2014)

Construction inspector for 0.84 miles of 2 lane pavement rehabilitation (HMA base crushing and shaping and HMA surfacing) with spot ditching, bridge deck rehabilitation, driveway approach paving and driveway culvert replacement, cross culvert replacement, and guardrail installation.

Design surveys, and design engineering assistance for rehabilitation (milling, base repairs, and HMA resurfacing) of one mile of 5 to 6 lane asphalt and asphalt over concrete primary road, including drainage improvements, intersection and driveway approach improvements, curb and gutter and sidewalk repairs, utility manhole adjustments, traffic control measures, and permanent pavement markings and signing.

Kee-Wah-Din Road (2013)

Design surveys for reconstruction of 3,500 feet of 2 lane asphalt local road paving and ditching, including the removal and replacement of an existing large culvert at the Leach Drain, new guardrail, heavy rip-rap slope protection, traffic control measures, and permanent pavement markings and signing.


BRIDGES AND CULVERTS

Genesee County Road Commission
2011 Culvert Replacement Program – 
Contract No. 3, Genesee County 

Design surveys, and design engineering assistance for five separate large culvert replacement projects (four concrete box culverts and one 60” CSP culvert), including approach construction, ditching, driveway approach and culvert improvements, new guardrail, channel modifications, heavy riprap slope protection, traffic control measures, and permanent pavement markings and signing. Performed HY-8 hydraulic analysis. Obtained five separate MDEQ permits.

Maple Avenue over Thread Creek (2011)
Bridge Replacement, 
Client: City of Burton, Genesee County  

Design surveys, and design engineering assistance, and construction staking for removal of an existing 2 lane concrete bridge and replacement with a new concrete box beam bridge with 2 lanes, shoulders, and sidewalk. Project included 500 feet of paved approach, reconstruction, storm sewer extensions, ditching, driveway approach and culvert improvements, new guardrail, channel improvements, heavy riprap slope protection, traffic control measures, and permanent pavement markings and signing.   


STORMWATER MANAGEMENT 

Dye Road, Extension of Chapman Drain (2013)
Flint Township 
Client: Genesee County Drain Commissioner 
Surface Water Management 

Design surveys and construction staking for the replacement of an existing county drain with approximately 3,500 feet of concrete pipe storm sewer ranging in size from 24” to 48” diameter in order to provide adequate drainage capacity for current & proposed development. Project included road crossings, roadside re-ditching, existing utility adjustments, driveway approach and culvert replacement.

KWA Water Supply System, Contract No. S-5005 (2017)
48” Steel Treated Water Transmission Main 
From Stanley Road thru the Hog Backs to Richfield Road 
Genesee and Lapeer Counties 

Construction Observer for 3miles of 48” diameter steel treated water transmission main, including gate valves, manways, hydrants, air release valves, culvert replacements, drain crossing, ditch and road restoration, and all related work. The project is part of the KWA Water Supply System to provide a domestic water supply to Genesee County, from Lake Huron.

66” Steel Raw Water Transmission Main 
From Lake Huron Pump Station to Bricker Road 
 Sanilac and St. Clair Counties 
Client: Genesee County Drain Commissioner 
Division of Water and Waste Services 

Construction Observer for 12 miles of 66” diameter steel raw water transmission main, including gate valves, manways, hydrants, air release valves, culvert replacements, river crossing, ditch and road restoration, and all related work. The project is part of the KWA Water Supply System to provide a domestic water supply to Genesee County and the City of Flint from Lake Huron.

Fenton Road Watermain Extension (2011)

Design surveys, and construction inspection for 5,000 feet of 12” and 16” ductile iron watermain, including gate valves, hydrants, lateral watermain connections, and appurtenances. The proposed project provided a looped system and public water access to an unserviced area.
